A small studio in Brooklyn making millwork the way it used to be made, by people who care, for people who notice.
Wewillbebirds was founded by Nikolay in Brooklyn, New York. Trained as a furniture maker and architectural millworker, his work sits at the intersection of cabinetry, sculpture, and architecture.
We take on a small number of projects each year. Each one starts with a conversation: about the room, the client, what the piece is supposed to do, and what it’s supposed to feel like when nobody’s looking at it.
From there: drawings, samples, prototypes when needed. Materials are chosen one board at a time. Joinery is selected for the load and the lifespan, not the schedule.
The work is built in our Brooklyn shop and installed by our own hands. Nothing gets subcontracted out of sight.
