The brief
Charred wood, floated off the floor. A bedroom storage wall finished in shou sugi ban, the Japanese technique of burning the surface until the grain turns to black armor.
A low dresser and a tall wardrobe, both wall-mounted so the floor runs clean underneath. The faces are charred wood, the burned grain left raw and tactile, so the whole wall reads black until the light catches the texture. Inside the wardrobe, a chrome hanging rail, a glass shelf, and integrated lighting keep the interior bright against the dark exterior.
